At first light, as the sun rises timidly and the dew still beads on the foliage, set off on a rejuvenating adventure in one of the natural jewels of the Vendée coastline: Le Veillon. Located in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, 50 minutes from our B&B, this listed site offers a fascinating setting, between dunes, ocean and marshes. Reach the Plage du Veillon car park, the ideal starting point for a gentle walk through unspoilt countryside. The ideal time to start this walk is undoubtedly in the morning, when the air is still fresh.
Walking in the heart of nature
The 6km signposted trail (approx. 1 hour 45 minutes' walk) winds its way between ancient dunes and alongside the Payré marshes, listed as one of the most beautiful estuaries in the Vendée. The route alternates between sandy stretches and clear undergrowth, offering a new perspective at every turn. The walk is gentle, accessible to all, and offers total immersion in a preserved environment, ideal for contemplation with family or friends.

On the way, plan a well-deserved stopover. If the tide is out (which it must be), cross the Payré channel on foot to reach the hamlet of La Guittière, renowned for its oyster beds.

Just a few hundred metres away and you'll be able to smell the salty, marine fragrances in the air. Don't miss Les Viviers de la Guittière, a must-visit restaurant. Take a seat on the terrace and let yourself be tempted by a platter of plump oysters, just out of the water, accompanied by a drizzle of lemon and a glass of Vendée white wine, to the rhythm of the lapping water. The setting is simple but magical. A pure moment of happiness in the heart of nature.
Picnic break in the woods
After this tasty, iodine-flavoured stopover, return to the trail to complete the loop through the forest. There are plenty of shady spots where you can set down your tablecloth and enjoy a picnic sheltered from the wind. Here, everything slows down. You take your time. We breathe. And savour.
Afternoon relaxing and swimming
In the early afternoon, make your way to the Veillon beach, one of the most beautiful in the Vendée. Bordered by the dune and the Payré, it offers an exceptional natural setting and remains relatively wild, even in summer. Spread out your towel, plunge into the water and let yourself be tempted by a water sports activity: paddle, kayak or bodyboard, depending on what you fancy. A nightcap before returning home
To bring this beautiful day to a gentle close, take a seat on the terrace of the bar/restaurant La Plage. The friendly atmosphere, with your feet almost in the sand, invites you to relax. With a glass of fresh juice in one hand and an ice cream in the other, let yourself be lulled by the golden light at the end of the day. After this break in the fresh air, return to your guest room. Back at the Domaine, extend the pleasures of the day with a final refreshing dip in the pool in the soft evening light. A peaceful way to round off a day full of discoveries.
